Smashing Arrow Twiggs County are working to shoot on Friday. Archers will need to arrive at 6pm. First practice end is expected to start at 6:30pm. Please make sure your archer has completed the DNR HUNTER’S course listed below if it applies to your archer.
If you have any questions, please reach out to Coach Bobby for Twigg County team members, or your local county team head coach for assistance.
Below is the email Smashing Arrows just received today from the state’s 4-H coordinator.
Happy Thanksgiving, and we will see you on the shooting line.
Coach Bobby and Fredrina
Archery Coaches and Extension Colleagues,
We look forward to hosting the popular 2026 State 4-H Indoor Archery Event on January 16-17, 2026, at the Georgia National Fairgrounds in Perry. This email contains important information for you to share with 4-H archers and parents before Event Registration opens on Tuesday, December 9 at 1:00PM. We know many are taking time off and travelling for the Thanksgiving holiday. Today’s email allows 3+ weeks to communicate with archers and parents before Event Registration opens.
The event letter with all the details is attached. This is one of most popular events. Please coordinate with each other to only register youth who are committed to attend so we can maximize participation. Event Registration closes on Friday, January 2 at 5:00PM.
Important
Archers in grades 6-12 are required to take a DNR approved Hunter Education Course as part of what we do to obtain Federal Pittman Robertson program support. Coaches and program volunteers also record and report volunteer time and travel for this support.
Instructions for gaining this certification are found here:
We require archers in grades 6-12 to have passed an approved hunter education course by March 1, 2026. Ideally, youth participating in the 4-H Indoor Archery Match on January 16-17 would have completed a course. We are very aware that clubs start at different times, and we do not want to limit participation in the indoor match.
Thanks for helping 6th-12th grade archery youth gain Hunter Education Certification!
